About “Healing Surrender”
Several times in my life, deep healing has come after I fully surrendered something to God: an illness, a thought, an attitude, a pain, an emotion, etc. I’m in the process of writing about one of those times in detail in a memoir so I can share what God has done for me and my family and how amazing our God is.
During challenging times in my life, healing has come when I’ve listened to that still, quiet voice of God telling me to…
Stop fighting.
Stop trying to fix the problem in your own strength.
Surrender the problem to Me, and rest in Me.
Allow yourself to put the issue down at My feet.
And let Me show you how to deal with it and how to pray about it.
These were hard, hard lessons to learn.
And, I still struggle with striving and doing things in my own strength. You see, I was raised in a family with a strong work ethic, which is a great trait to have if kept in balance with times of rest. The problem is, I’m so used to taking control of situations, analyzing what needs to be done, and then outlining a plan of action. I love solving problems and making long to do lists. I’m really good at that.
But the Lord is teaching me a new way. A better way. The most exceptional way. Which is to trust Him fully with whatever I face – whether it’s my child’s health, my own physical illnesses, the grief over a loved one’s death, or whatever the challenge may be. These are all super hard things to surrender and let go of!
But God keeps teaching me over and over
that He is trustworthy.
When I actually surrender my huge problems to Him and rest in Him, when I fully trust Him to take charge of the situation, He always comes through.

About the Banner Photo
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all represented in the banner photo, with the focus being on Jesus, the Word of God.
Creation, which is depicted in the water, leaves, and flowers, represents Father God.
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)
The Bible, or Word of God, represents Jesus, the Son.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.” (John 1:1-2)
The wind that is blowing the Bible page represents the Holy Spirit.
“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”(John 3:8)
The appearance of water represents both Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
“On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.” (John 7:37-39)
