Gabriela Magaña Banks, PhD, is a Certified HeartSync Inner Healing prayer minister who passionately leads believers to Jesus for healing so they can walk in their true identity and destiny. She grew up as the youngest of six children in a low-income Mexican Catholic family in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Child Development. She later went back to Stanford to complete her Master’s and PhD in Education, thinking the Doctorate would completely fulfill her and give her a sense of purpose.
However, the degree left her with a profound sense of emptiness. She became depressed, prayed to God daily for help, and then surrendered her life to Jesus, giving Him full reign to guide her. Three days later, she encountered the Lord’s tangible Presence in prophetic dreams and supernatural events, prompting her to surrender her career to follow Jesus whole heartedly.
After two years of being a spiritually-awakened born again believer in the Catholic church, her heart yearned for more. The Lord then led her, her husband, and their three small children to a evangelical Bible church in Silicon Valley where she received foundational Bible teaching. While staying home to raise her children, she immersed herself in studying the Bible with other women.
Ten years later, when she realized the Lord had given her prophetic and healing gifts, she began pursuing training for physical and inner healing at House of Hope, a local charismatic healing center, while still attending the evangelical church.
After 21 years at the Bible church and with their children now launched, the Lord then led her and her husband to Bethel Church, a charismatic community in Redding, California, where Gabriela could fully embrace and grow in her healing and prophetic gifts. The Lord also prompted her to intentionally steward her prophetic gifting by enrolling in online classes with Prophetic Company, a biblically-based prophetic-equipping ministry.
Gabriela serves with House of Hope Healing Center as their Training Director and as a Certified HeartSync Inner Healing Prayer Minister. With her varied background in Catholic, evangelical, and charismatic churches, Gabriela longs to see unity in the Body of Christ and values the combination of strong biblical principles coupled with powerful moves of the Holy Spirit.
She is currently enrolled in a certification program with Prophetic Company, where she is building a curriculum to train believers to process prophetic words they have received, to help them unlock mindsets, and to encourage them to pursue whole-heart healing so they can discover their God-given identity and destiny. Gabriela’s long-term vision is that together, the healed, unified, and purpose-driven Body of Christ can teach the principalities and powers of darkness who Jesus really is. (Eph 3:10).
Gabriela is married to Big Tech visionary and pioneer Jano Banks. They enjoy traveling together and family vacations that involve game nights, disc golf, water sports, and quality time with their three adult children, son-in-law, and granddaughter.
